PROCESS OVERVIEW

As a boutique firm Seear-Budd Ross only take on a few key projects each year. This allows us to offer an in depth and personal service to our respected clients. As directors, Thomas and James, are involved in every stage of a project. They work together on every design and key decision to ensure the best possible result for you as the client. Due to the scale of the practice Thomas and James are also in charge of all the documentation and site observation. This ensures a smooth process from inception to execution without the project changing hands.

BUDGET OVERVIEW

We take our clients budgets very seriously and tailor our design responses accordingly. Even on projects with large budgets we tend to distill our designs down to one or two key moves. This means we concentrate the spending in some areas and pull back in others to control the budget. We also favour local and easily sourced materials both for their inherent connection to our landscape and their cost. The overall size of the project is also incredibly important for the budget. Through careful spatial planning our aim is that the project is an appropriate size balancing budget and brief.

Our overarching aim is that together we create comfortable, calm and beautiful architecture that is on budget and tailor made for you and your family.

In order to manage the budget as best we can we work closely with a chosen builder or Quantity Surveyor throughout the project. On most projects of a reasonable scale we will get cost estimates at three stages - Preliminary Design, Developed Design and Detailed Design.
