Tucked at the end of a long driveway, St Heliers House is imagined as a place of quiet withdrawal — a refuge where time seems to slow. The architecture unfolds in calm sequence: cobbled paving underfoot, slender timber battens catching the light, and a fine metal edge tracing the roofline with precision. Inside, the palette is one of restraint and softness — marble, ash, plaster, and wool — each material chosen for its calm tactility and enduring presence. Light drifts gently across long boards of ash, gathering warmth as it moves through spaces that open to gardens, water, and sky. Glazed walls dissolve the boundary between interior and landscape, allowing the home to breathe with the changing seasons. At its most private edge, the master suite opens to a secluded courtyard — a quiet enclosure for rest, reflection, and the simple pleasure of stillness.
